2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hello!!

Today is the day for the 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! I can't wait to see all the great summer and coffee themed cards!! My card is a little tongue in cheek, fun card! Last hope I won a gift card and got some new Hero Arts stamps that I really wanted to use sooo....

To-da!!! Coffee and a shark!!! What could be better and more summery!?!?!? :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts Simon Says Stamp
I started with a panel of watercolor paper, placing a Simon Says Stamp Waves stencil on top. Then with three different Distress Inks, I watercolored in the open spaces of the lower half of the stencil. I controlled the water I used as I didn't want too much bleeding going on.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts Simon Says Stamp

While that was drying I found a gray scrap card stock and I stamped the shark head from Hero Arts Killer Messages set on it in gray ink. With my versamark marker, I colored the inside of the mouth and added a little shading. With a white opaque pen, I colored in the teeth!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts Simon Says Stamp

My coffee cup came from Waffle Flower's Bear & Bird stamp set, I colored it with one of the blue Distress Inks. Then I fussy cut it and the sharks head out. I placed both on my panel and when I liked their placement I added them with foam tape.  With Distress Markers, I added the fishing pole and fishing line.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Hero Arts Simon Says Stamp

My sentiment came from My Favorite Things Stay Cool stamp set, I thought it went really well with my shark and coffee card!! I cut a strip of the sentiment and added it across the bottom of the card with foam tape!

Exhausting Being This Fabulous

Hello!!!

Well, it's starting to get warm and feel like summer so I figured it's time for a summer card!! AI has several clear sets that were available at Micheals and now available at artimpressions.com! My card today uses Beach Babes!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the three ladies image on some white card stock and used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it. The majority of these colors are the newest colors available! I used: AP1, AP2, AP3, BO1, BO2, BO3, DP1, DP2, DP3, GY1, GY2, GY3, MB1, MB3, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die to cut them out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For a beachy feel, I found some pretty sand and shell pattern paper and added it to a white card base. For the sentiment, I die cut a smaller rectangle and stamped it at the bottom. I adhered it to the back of the ladies so you could just see the sentiment below them. Then I added it directly to the card base.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I got the pattern paper from a paper pack collection and inside was also a sticker sheet, which I found an anchor sticker. Since I didn;t need it to be an actual sticker I added some baby powder to the back so it wouldn't be sticky. I added a little twine to the anchor and from my stash, I found a wooden circle anchor. I added both to the corner of the ladies rectangle.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Art Impressions Challenge #210 Let's Distress

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #210 Let's Distress! Along with the challenge, there is a new release of Windows to the World and a new Frame Die!! I have two projects today, one featuring the frame die and new Window and another that follows the Let's Distress challenge using one Distress Marker.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
The frames are really easy to use, just die cut, fold, and adhere the tabs! You want to use double sided pattern paper as you will see both sides. For the Window frame, I just stamped the cat window and colored it with my Spectrum Noir Markers. Trim it and adhere the frame over it show you can see the image. Really very easy!! The die even comes with a little stand that you adhere to the back, it folds flat for gift giving!!

For the other project, I stamped some of the new Watercolor stamp sets all with the Black Soot Distress Marker. I went with a black and white theme, using just that marker to watercolor. I cut the frame from black cardstock and then added a white ribbon to the back to make it an ornament/decor! Perfect for any cat lover!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stop by, break out your favorite distress products and play along with us!!

Paper Piecing with Art Impressions

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! Father's day is right around the corner and today's card is perfect if you need a quick card at the last minute. I used FDMD Set, Gordon Golf Set with a little paper piecing.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I stamped Gordon on a white card base and on a piece of white cardstock. Then I stamped it a third time on some different pattern paper from some DoodleBug Designs pattern papers. I fussy cut out his shirt and pants.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

With my Spectrum Noir markers, I colored everything else. I used BT5, BT6, EB5, EB6, FS2, FS6, FS9, IG2, IG4, IG6. Then I fussy cut out Gordon.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I added him to the card with foam tape and with a gray marker I added a little bit of ground for Gordon to stand on. Last I stamped the #bestdadever sentiment.

Art Impressions Bug Buster

Hello!

I can't believe it's June already!! Of course with June comes Father's day and I start thinking about all the manly cards I should make!! Today I'm on the Art Impressions blog with a fairly easy but interesting card to share. Sometimes after coloring your image you just want to make a card without getting bogged down with some technique heavy!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I started with the Bug Buster stamp set, this is a perfect set to have on hand, could easily be a father's day card or a birthday card!! I stamped the image on white cardstock and then used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color it up! I used EB6, FS4, FS6, FS9, IG2, IG4, IG6, IG10, TB3, TB4, TB8, TB9, True Black. Then I used sharp scissors and fussy cut him out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

From a strip of white cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in black ink. Then I made a white card base. From my paper stash, I found a white wood grain and added it to the card. From the same stack, I found some blue polka dot pattern that matched. To make it interesting I added the sheet with one corner pointing down at about the middle of the card. Super duper easy, but adds a little interest being at an angle and having two patterns!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added the sentiment strip across the card with foam tape and then added the image on top, also with foam tape. Since this is a more manly card I left off any embellishments!!

Art Impressions Challenge #209 White Space is Nice Space

Hello!

It's the second week of Art Impressions #209 White Space is Nice Space Challenge, plenty of time to still play along! AI also has two new clear stamps sets available at Micheals! My card features the Our Big Birthday Wishes set.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I started by stamping the big image and used my Spectrum Noir markers to color it. I used: AB1, AB2, AB3, AG1, AG2, AG3, BG9, BG9, BG10, BO1, BO2, BO3, CR7, DP2, DP3, DP4, GY1, GY2, GY3, IG1, IG2, IG4, IG6, MB1, MB2, MB3, MG3, MG5. Then I fussy cut the image out.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Since the challenge is White Space I couldn't add any pattern paper, so after some thinking I decided to do a white on white. First I stamped the sentiment on a white card base I placed a stencil over the base and pressed some versamark ink into the spaces of the stencil. I wanted a rough/nonperfect edge so I didn;t ink all the way to the edge, I also inked around the sentiment. Then I added white embossing and melted it with a heat tool.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Last I added the stamped image with foam tape. I decided against adding anything, instead letting the image and background take the stage!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you will play along with us!!

Some Bunny Loves You

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today! Looking through my cards still waiting to be posted I found this one spring card that I figured I'd share before summer really gets going!! I used Easter Blessings but the set has a non-Easter sentiment, Some Bunny Loves You so you can use these super adorable images all year round!! I used very spring colors for my card but could use more summer or fall colors to really stretch this stamp set!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with a panel of watercolor card stock and used Lindys Stamp Gang Magical's to watercolor a bit of yellow to it. The magicals are a powder and you just add it to water, gesso, embossing paste or whatever you want to add a tint too! I used the Bonjour Butter color.

While the panel was drying I picked out a die to create a window in the panel. Before die cutting (because my panel was wet) I lightly traced it on a white card base, where the window would be. In this area, I applied some Hero Arts Bubble Gum with an ink applicator. Then I placed a Tim Holtz stencil, Lace over it and applied more ink!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I stamped the little bunny and colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used: CG3, CR1, CR4, CR6, DG2, HB1, HB2, PL1, PL2, PL3. Then I fussy cut him out. The sentiment Some Bunny Loves You was stamped at the bottom of the pink lace and my pencil trace line of the window was erased.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
When my background was dry I die cut the window out and added it to the card base with the pink lacey part showing through. I added the little bunny to one corner of the window and lastly added a few sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Art Impressions & Distress Marker Watercoloring

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog with a card featuring the Watercolor Clay Pot set. I used my Distress Markers to color the images. I want a more spring-like feel so I used pinks as my main color!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by coloring the pot with a distress marker and stamping it on watercolor paper. I used some water and a paint brush, along with many other markers to color the pot. With the foliage I did the same thing, adding details and shading until I was happy with the image. The Distress Markers I used where: Weathered Wood, Festive Berries, Forest Moss, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I used Papertrey Ink's Half & Half die to cut out the image. I found some pattern paper from Echo Park Paper that matched the colors I used and added one pattern to the card base and strip of another pattern in the middle.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added the image the card with foam tape, trimming off the extra at the top. Then I scattered some matching sequins across the card. I decided to go without a sentiment for the front when a card is needed I can stamp a sentiment on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Art Impressions Challenge #208 - Dot's & Stripes

Hello!!

It's the second week of Art Impressions Challenge #208 - Dots & Stripes! AI also has new interactive die and stamp sets, the PopCards!! My card features the Oldie Popcard stamp set and die set along with the PopCard Template.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by stamping the all the images in the set. Then I used the following Spectrum Noir Markers to color the images, BG3, BG6, BG10, BP1, CT1, CT4, TB3, TB4, TB5, OR1.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
With washi tape I adhered the matching dies to the colored images. I also cut the template from white cardstock. I threaded each layer onto the template. The stamp set has instructions and the AI video channel has a video or two using these stamps and dies.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added some polka dot paper to the inside of the white cardbase. About 3/4 the way down at the crease I cut 2 slits like the instructions indicate. Then I added the Oldie on the template to the inside of the card along with strip that attaches the raised square to the Oldie. This moves the Oldie when you open the card.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

For the outside of the card I added the pink strip paper, along with a strip of polka dot paper. I die cut a white circle and a scallop circle from some pattern paper. Then I stamped the sentiment on the circle and added it to the scallop circle, then added that to the front of the card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Art Impressions AI People with Spectrum Noir Markers

Hi!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog today with a card featuring one of the new AI People! These new stamps make perfect Get Well cards!! My card features the Crutches set.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started by picking out some pattern paper from Echo Park Paper Co. Petticoats & Pinstripes. Then I picked out some similar Spectrum Noir markers to color the image. I used BP6, BP7, CR4, CR6, DR4, EB5, EB6, GT2, GT3, IG2, IG4, IG7.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

I added a pink pattern paper to a white card base, then I cut a stitched rectangle from a blue pattern. I added the stitched panel to the middle of the card. From white card stock I die cut an even smaller stitched rectangle.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I fussy cut the image and then added it to the card with foam tape. Last I stamped the sentiment on the white rectangle and also added it with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Quick Mother's Day Card

Hello!!

I'm on the Art Impressions blog with quick little Mother's Day card!! If you haven't yet made one, this might be the thing for you!! I used the FDMD Set, perfect to have on hand for your Mother's Day AND Father's Day cards!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I started with a watercolor panel that was a little bit smaller than 4 inches. Then I used the leafy stamp from the WC Foliage Set 1 along with the Distress Marker Forest Moss. I would color the stamp with the marker, then stamp along the panel. Stamp several at a time, then add a little bit of water with a paintbrush. I did this all the way around the square panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions

Next, I used the flower cluster from the Flowering Mailbox set to stamp pink flowers all around the panel. I did it the same way I did the leaves, only with Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar. You can customize by using any leaf and flower stamp you want. And any watercoloring marker will work too!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Art Impressions
I stamped the Mother's Day sentiment in the middle of the square panel. Then I used a little bit of Picked Raspberry and water to color the hearts. I added a few sequins to the panel and then added it to some light pattern paper and a card base.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope all the Mom's (and Dad's who are the moms!) have a great Mother's Day!!

Crafter's Companion on HSN - TODAY - Video

Hello!

Have you been watching HSN?!?! Lots of great products from Crafter's Companion!! This is my second post today, this time featuring the 3D Embossing Folders that are available on HSN! They will be on HSN at 8pm EST, TONIGHT!!

I was able to make a video with my Ipad for the first time! The video shows how I made the card, but I didn;t include on the video (I have to see about putting together multiple videos together still!!) how I did the embossing and using the gilding wax. But it's super easy, I used my Gemini to run the embossing folder through. You get awesome embossing with these folders!! Then I used a foam ink applicator and the gold Gilding Wax (it's really like ink or very light embossing paste!) to add the gold to the background!!

But anyway here is the video! Enjoy! Below are a few photos of the finished card!!

Crafter's Companion on HSN TODAY!!

Hello!!

Crafter's Companion is on HSN TODAY!! You better run to the TV or HSN.com to get your hands on some awesome new Crafter's Companion crafty goodies!! This is my first of two posts today! I'll be back this afternoon!!

Dana Warren -Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
My card features the Today's Special Circle Centre Create A Card die! I first cut the base from Kraft cardstock, then again using the matting pieces and the flower background. I inked around the edge of the flower background with Distress Ink. and then added it to the card with foam tape.

Dana Warren -Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion
Next, I cut the Thank You So Much circle twice from Kraft cardstock. I used the same Distress Ink to ink up both sentiments, that way they are darker than the Kraft and easily read! Then I added both sentiments to each side of the circle.

Dana Warren -Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

For the flower, I used Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Lily and did some watercolor stamping with it! Once all my stamping and watercolor was done I die cut the lily and leaves out with the matching dies. Then I just assembled the lily flower with some liquid adhesive.

Dana Warren -Kraft Paper Stamps - Crafter's Companion

Last, I added the lily to the card along with a few orange rhinestones for some sparkle.
